Blood Meets Light
“Welcome to the Shing Jea Monastery, Namie Blackrose” greeted the kind guard, who stood there, in front of the monastery. “Good day, kind sir, I’m here for the Necromancer training”, she said as she bowed to him. “Ha ha ha, no need to bow for me, but I can see you have good manners for a Necromancer” he said as he laughed. “Well where did you hear that from? I don’t believe it” she said shockingly. He laughed once again and Namie got really confused and laughed with him. “Ha ha and a sense a humor, but anyway I’ll let you in and please enjoy yourself, Miss Blackrose” As the doors opened, Namie was ready to deal with anything that came her way.
There was a special assembly in the monastery, inviting every new student and giving them the basic rules of the monastery. Minister Cho and Master Togo, the new ritualist master spoke about the upcoming events happening this year. “Young one, get ready for the next couple of days, you will be tested on how much you learned from your headmasters. By a random poll, you will be dueled against a different profession and will be graded. Everyone in the monastery were shocked at he said. Namie was the opposite of that emotion. “I’m glad we are able to do that now instead of then” Namie turned to the left to see a short girl with long, blond hair looking up at her. “Um… who are you? Not to be rude or anything” said Namie. The little monk looked up and frowned and said “Don’t worry, I know what you’re thinking…why would a little girl be here? Well, to tell you the truth, I’m not a LITTLE GIRL!” Namie’s eyes bugged out when she yelled. Everyone stared at her and she was blushing and almost started to cry. “STOP LOOKING AT ME!!!!!” she screamed and ran off outside of the monastery. Everyone either laughed or……no, they just laughed. Namie felt really bad about the girl and she ran off to find her. As she left, three women stared at Namie as she ran off. One with short, blond hair with the pigtails at the top of her hair, and the other with the same hair style but with black hair. “Well, well, well I can see we have two wannabes in here and you know I can’t stand wannabes” she said to her two henchmen (or women). She walked right after her and the little girl.
Sister Tai was training two young warriors outside when the young girl came running toward the battle. She didn’t look where she was going. All she cared about was getting away from everyone. When Sister Tai noticed the monk running towards them, she yelled “WATCH OUT, LITTLE GIRL!” Right then and there, the girl’s rage over-powered herself. When she stopped, a bright light surrounded her and lifted her in and she let out a big scream. This bright light surrounded the area and the light was so blinding that Sister Tai had to close her eyes to walk over to her. The girl couldn’t stop screaming. She was so angry at the world around her, calling her “little” and “small”. A image had flashed in the monk’s mind. She saw her mother and father, holding her hands and walking down an endless highway to nowhere. All she cared about was her family. Then she heard someone calling her name as her parents fade away from her memory. “She sounds like………mom” she whispered. Then it was all black.
Chapter 1- Old habits, die hard
Namie kept running to find the monk. When she was outside, she saw an explosion of light. “What’s that……could it be…” she whispered. She kept running toward to the light and she ran closer to the light, the more painful the light was. As she realized, she wasn’t use to so much light when she was young. “Humph, can’t handle a little light?” She couldn’t tell who it was, but all she saw were three skinny bodies looking down. She thought they were monsters. Suddenly, Namie’s eyes turned red. Red as blood. Since she was a Necromancer, especially a blood Necromancer, whenever she would see a creature, her blood power would take control of her and she would become a monster herself. She stood up and reached out her hand. She walked closer to the shadow creatures. “What the hell are you doing?” the shadow figure asked. Namie just kept walking until she felt skin touching her hand. She grabbed it and pulled towards her. The shadow creature screamed and shaking from Namie’s grip. “Shhh, calm down, it will all be over soon” said Namie in a disturbing voice. It was nothing like her usual voice. She got closer to her neck and opened her mouth. Her teeth soon turned into vampire fangs. Suddenly, a burst of fire came flaming towards her. She looked quickly and dodged to the left. Then there was another ball of fire, then numerous fire balls came crashing down to where Namie was standing at that moment. Namie looked up and gazed at the raining fire that came down. This had cause Namie to freeze in shock. She still hasn’t returned to her normal self until a fireball aimed right at her. She was still trying to gain control over her body but the demon inside her wouldn’t let her. In her mind, she thought “Is this it for me? Is my life flashing before my eyes?” Then all of a sudden a voice responded to her. “That’s what I thought, too.” said the voice. Namie could almost recognized the voice. She answered back to it. “Who are you and what are you doing in my mind?” “I don’t know. All I can remember was creating a large ball of light and it had increased…..then I saw someone…someone I knew by the sound of her voice” Namie could tell that the voice was sad. She wanted to help her but she couldn’t. Namie had to remember that necromancer’s have no heart, no emotions, and no love. She was taught that all of her life. She wanted to change all of that. Then Namie said, “What’s your name?” The voice giggled and said “My name is…..”
Suddenly, Namie came back to herself and opened her eyes to see a courtyard. She slowly raised her body but screamed at the pain she had. She looked down and saw that her body was almost burnt. “What happened to me?”, she said. “You’re at the Healing Garden, almost outside the monastery.” Namie turned around to see a young woman with brown-like outfit, neatly designed. Almost made for a monk. The woman had long, black and a cherry blossom at the side of her hair. She smiled at Namie and said “I’m Sister Tai, the healing teacher of the monastery.” She walked over to Namie and touched her chest. Namie felt really uncomfortable and grabbed her hands. “What are you trying to do to me?” Sister Tai’s eyes widened. “I’m.. I’m trying to healing you, do you remember?” The thing was Namie didn’t remember anything. All she could remember was the voice inside her head. She was so curious to find out her name. “Hello? Are you okay?”, said Sister Tai as she shook her. “Yes I’m okay, I’m just tired”, she said as she rubbed her eyes. Sister Tai just smiled and gently laid her back down. “Just rest for now and I’ll heal your wounds”. Namie turned her head around, trying to sleep, until she saw a face looking at her. It was the young girl that ran away during the ceremony. “Don’t you remember me because I remember you”, said the girl. Namie couldn’t recognized the voice until the girl said “My name is Chiyo and you are Namie”. This had startled Namie and it was only just beginning.
